About Us
NeKKo Kitchen is a curated webshop for Japanese flavors. We offer a handpicked selection from Japanese producers we trust. With a focus on quality, simplicity, and how easily you can use them in your own everyday life.

Our Journey
NeKKo Kitchen began as a longing to make Japanese products more accessible. Without compromising on quality or feeling.
We work with selected producers in Japan and import directly from suppliers we trust. The range is built step by step, with a focus on products we use ourselves and can stand behind.

Craftsmanship
We choose each product with care. Not because it sounds good. But because it is used, works, and is of high quality.

Taste
Pure Japanese flavors, without unnecessary additives. Products that are easy to use in food, tea, and everyday life.

Honesty
We build relationships with producers we trust and are transparent about what we sell. Nothing exaggerated. Only what we stand behind ourselves.
Food with roots. Flavors with heart.
Our Philosophy
Nekko is our quiet rebellion against haste. A tribute to what grows slowly and lasts.
The name Nekko means “root” in Japanese. Like roots, we want our products to be quiet, powerful and nourishing. Anchored in Japanese tradition, yet alive in Swedish everyday life.
We believe in flavors that grow from simplicity: cooking rice with care, pouring dashi like a ritual, and setting a table where presence has room to breathe.
Nekko is more than a brand. It is a movement toward slowness and remembrance. A way back to the hands, the aromas, and food that speaks for itself.
Flavors with roots. From Japan. Experienced in Sweden.
How we curate
Why we choose what we choose
Nekko Kitchen is run as a small curated pantry for the Japanese kitchen. The range is intentionally narrow, because every product should be easy to brew, cook with, or serve without specialist knowledge. Breadth will come with time, always held to the same standard.
We start with Japanese tea. Sencha for fresh umami, hojicha for roasted softness, and genmaicha for nutty warmth. Together they cover morning, day, and evening, and they work as an introduction to Japanese tea for anyone starting out.
Alongside the tea we are building out the Japanese pantry with dry goods and recipes. The idea is that an afternoon pot of sencha and an evening bowl of rice should come from the same way of thinking: calm, presence, and respect for the ingredient.
We taste every variety before bringing it in, we write brewing and cooking recommendations based on our own kitchens, and we keep an ongoing dialogue with suppliers about harvest, storage, and serving. When a product does not deliver what it promises, we remove it from the range.
All of this is done by the Nekko Kitchen Team. The range is not assembled by an algorithm but by people who cook with the products every day. That is why the range feels personal, and why we can stand behind every package.
