    THE COOKBOOK

A book about food, memories and culture

A cookbook in the making. Where Japanese food meets Nordic flavors.

    Nekko: Japan in Sweden

A cookbook growing step by step.

Nekko: Japan in Sweden is a cookbook currently in the making. It is an ongoing project where new recipes, stories and chapters are shaped step by step. The book unites Japanese food traditions with Swedish ingredients, memories from childhood and the small moments that shape a family.

The cookbook is written by Emmili Ali Yoshiguchi, nutritionist, and reflects her journey through food, culture and identity. From childhood stories to present family life. Everything is woven together into a book that is as much about feelings and stories as about the food itself.

The book is structured around the seasons and shows how Japanese cooking can land softly in a Swedish kitchen. Here you will find everyday dishes, festive food, simple favorites and small stories that bring the dishes to life. This is not a book just about recipes. It is a living story about belonging and culture, written while life continues around.

Nekko: Japan in Sweden is also the foundation for Nekko Kitchen, where we work with Japanese ingredients, tea and food experiences in a Nordic way. A project that develops alongside our company and our family.

    • Stories about identity, culture and family

    Why the book exists

We want to build a bridge between the two kitchens we love. Japanese food becomes easier to understand and cook when it meets the Swedish pantry. At the same time, we want to preserve traditions, flavors and stories that risk being forgotten if they are not written down.

    Who the book is for

    • For you who want to cook Japanese food without hassle.
    • For you who appreciate pure flavors, craftsmanship and seasons.
    • For you who are curious about culture, identity and the stories of food.
    • For you who want a beautiful book to return to in the kitchen.
    Release

The cookbook grows in small batches. Chapters are released when they feel ready and the whole holds together. Without stress, without shortcuts.

The most important thing for us is quality, feeling and sustainability. Therefore, the book takes the time it needs.
